[DigitalToday reporter Seul-gi Son] TVING said on Sept. 15 it held personal data protection training for all employees.

The training, held on Sept. 14, featured Jong-soo Yoon (윤종수), a partner attorney at law firm Bae, Kim & Lee LLC, who lectured on "Rising personal data leak risks and changes in the regulatory paradigm and response strategies."

The training covered changes in the personal data protection environment and building prevention systems, the direction of personal data protection in the AI era, and points employees should note in the course of their work.

It also shared data lifecycle management, which manages the entire process from personal data creation and collection through use, storage and destruction, as well as ways to improve related systems and processes. It included practical management standards such as checking data retention periods and processing purposes and destroying unnecessary personal data.

It also explained "privacy by design," which reflects personal data protection principles from the service planning and development stages.

Yoon said, "Personal data protection is not a response after a service launch, but a basic principle that must be considered from the planning stage," adding, "It is important to establish a system so that checks and protective measures for personal data processing can be carried out throughout the entire service process."

Min-seok Ko (고민석), TVING vice president in charge of human resources, said, "Personal data protection is a basic principle that all members must responsibly practice in their own work," adding, "We will continuously review related standards and procedures and supplement what is necessary."
