[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong (홍진주)] The holdings needed to rank in the top 10 percent of XRP wallets have fallen again.
Decrypto, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Sept. 8 that holding about 2,120 XRP is now enough to be included in the top 10 percent of XRP Ledger wallets.
Based on the latest rich list, the top 10 percent cutoff was tallied at 2,119.55 XRP and the top 1 percent benchmark at about 44,490 XRP. When XRP is priced at about $1.40 per token, 2,120 XRP is worth about $2,968. A wallet holding 10,000 XRP is worth about $14,000, well above the top 10 percent threshold.
The shift coincides with a rapid rise in the number of wallets on the XRP Ledger. The network now has 8,121,349 wallets. Still, the number of wallets does not necessarily mean the number of actual holders. One person can operate multiple wallets, and exchanges or custody services may hold XRP on behalf of many users.
Holdings data show concentration at the top remains clear. Accounts holding less than 1,000 XRP make up about 85 percent of the total, but the combined amount of XRP they hold accounts for only a small share of the total. By bracket, accounts holding 0 to 20 XRP were the most common at 4.13 million, with combined holdings of 24,168,000 XRP. Wallets holding 20 to 500 XRP numbered 2.55 million, with combined holdings of 220.8 million XRP.
As a result, a wallet holding 2,120 XRP may not look large in absolute terms, but it is seen as meaningful in network rankings. It is worth less than $3,000 at current prices, but falls into the top 10 percent by wallet distribution.
Still, such a ranking does not guarantee a future rise in value. The direction of XRP prices remains uncertain, and the rich list threshold can keep changing depending on additional buying or selling by holders. Even with the same 2,120 XRP, the value would be $21,200 if XRP later reaches $10, or $212,000 if it reaches $100, but those figures are simple conversions of the current holdings.
The figures are therefore interpreted as an indicator of how wallet distribution is being reshaped within the XRP Ledger. As the total number of wallets rises, the share of small wallets is increasing. The top-tier thresholds are falling again, extending shifts in the holding structure.
