XRP 200,000 stolen in 97 minutes fuels debate over Coreum bridge security flaw

About 200,000 XRP was stolen from the Coreum cross-chain bridge after an attacker exploited weaknesses in its deposit verification logic, investigators said. The attacker allegedly made fake deposits appear real by moving bridge-issued wrapped tokens between wallets and inserting Coreum transfer details in transaction memos. Relayers checked that transactions occurred and memos existed, but did not confirm deposits reached the bridge address. A quorum of 17 signatures then approved withdrawals, sending XRP from the bridge wallet.

Evernode CEO outlines strategy to monetise XRP holdings

Evernode has urged companies to shift from merely holding XRP to managing it on-chain to generate returns using decentralised finance functions on the XRP Ledger. Chief Executive Ashish Birla said at WebX 2026 in Japan that corporate digital-asset treasury strategies should evolve from accumulation to active use. He cited growth in tokenised real-world assets on XRPL and increased transaction volumes involving Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD, and outlined steps for Japanese firms to adopt blockchain gradually.

Tokenised market outgrows XRP spot ETF as XRPL RWA tops $4 billion

Tokenised real-world assets on XRP Ledger (XRPL) rose to $4.06 billion, with the number of holders increasing to 199, data showed. Over the past 30 days, tokenised asset value gained 2.18 percent and the number of holders rose 25.16 percent. XRPL hosts 373 tokenised RWAs, with distributed asset value at $368.82 million. Ripple recently announced investments in ZILO and Licuido to expand institutional capabilities. Stablecoin market value reached $901.4 million, though recent transfer volumes declined.
