National Radio Research Agency marks 60th anniversary, boosts 6G and quantum communications research
South Korea\'s National Radio Research Agency is marking its 60th anniversary by strengthening research into next-generation radio technologies such as 6G, terahertz and quantum communications. It also plans to advance AI-based frequency interference analysis and electromagnetic-wave forecasting technologies, and focus on preparing proactive systems to respond to technological change. The agency held a commemorative ceremony on July 29 at its campus in the Gwangju-Jeonnam joint innovation city.

TeraView supplies inspection equipment to global semiconductor and smartphone companies
TeraView, a terahertz technology solutions company, said on Feb. 26 it secured additional orders for its EOTPR terahertz-wave inspection system from a global semiconductor foundry and a smartphone company. Both customers had already adopted EOTPR. The foundry, which supplies key parts to AI chipmakers, extended a maintenance contract ahead of adding automation functions in the second quarter. The system detects defects in HBM-related micro bumps, TSVs and flexible PCBs.

Yield takes center stage at Semicon Korea 2026
Yield emerged as the key theme at Semicon Korea 2026, held at Seoul\'s COEX from Feb. 11, as the event drew 550 companies and 75,000 pre-registered visitors. With HBM4 and 2-nanometre processes approaching mass production, interest has surged in metrology and inspection equipment to detect hidden defects. SK Hynix executives flagged a technology inflection point and urged AI-based R&D. Equipment makers showcased next-generation inspection and bonding technologies.
