Bitcoin hovers near $70,000 as short-term selling caps further gains
Bitcoin extends gains but shows signs that the rise is not a confirmed reversal, as short-term holders step up profit-taking. The cryptocurrency broke above $74,000 this week, with hourly realised profits for short-term holders jumping to $18.4 million, a pattern similar to February when selling above $70,000 capped advances. If selling pressure eases and prices hold above $70,000, $78,000 and $82,000 could be next targets.
