Marvell shares surge 241 percent in a year; CEO cites trust as key to AI chip success
Marvell Technology shares have surged 241 percent over the past year, with long-standing trust built with major technology companies cited as a key driver. CEO Matt Murphy said hyperscaler customers decide deals based on trust across the ecosystem, not only price or performance. SK hynix unveils CPO technology to break memory bandwidth barrier
SK hynix presented a technology aimed at easing a new bottleneck in AI infrastructure in a paper published in the journal Nature Electronics. The company said ultra-large clusters linking thousands of GPUs and HBM are creating a bandwidth barrier that limits data movement between systems. The paper outlines a roadmap for co-packaged optics, with targets including more than 100 Tb/s per node and less than 1 pJ/bit energy use.

Lumilens raises over $700 million at $5.5 billion valuation, aims to replace copper interconnects in data centers
Second-year startup Lumilens has raised more than $700 million at a $5.5 billion valuation, the Wall Street Journal reported. Atrades Management, Bain Capital Ventures, MeritTech, Seligman Ventures and Spark Capital co-led the round, taking total funding above $900 million. The company has begun shipping equipment to an unnamed hyperscaler and contracts could be worth billions of dollars over the next few years. Lumilens aims to replace copper wiring with optical interconnects.
