December consumer prices rise 2.3 percent as weak won pressures petroleum, imported foods
South Korea\'s consumer price index rose 2.3 percent in December from a year earlier, keeping inflation in the 2 percent range for a fourth month, National Data Agency data showed. Petroleum products rose 6.1 percent, the biggest increase this year, with diesel up 10.8 percent and gasoline up 5.7 percent. Agricultural, livestock and fisheries products gained 4.1 percent, while the living price index rose 2.8 percent. Annual inflation was 2.1 percent.
