SEC draws over 100 comments on proposed crypto rules as airdrop provisions come under scrutiny

Bitwise, Hyperliquid urge U.S. SEC to clarify token and trading rules

Asset manager Bitwise and the Hyperliquid Policy Center urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to clarify rules on token classification, airdrops and secondary market trading. They said existing rules are unclear as the SEC considers its proposed crypto asset regulation, which includes exceptions for certain fundraising and a conditional safe harbor for tokens tied to investment contracts. Other commenters urged the SEC to withdraw the proposal entirely.

JB Financial invests 40 billion won in Upstage, takes 2 percent stake

JB Financial Group has invested 40 billion won in AI technology company Upstage to secure about a 2 percent stake. The group said three affiliates, Jeonbuk Bank, Gwangju Bank and JB Woori Capital, signed a Series C-2 investment contract totaling 40 billion won. JB Financial said the investment follows a strategic partnership signed in September and is aimed at strengthening cooperation to apply AI across financial operations.
