Regional financial holdings post mixed Q1 net profit results despite asset growth
BNK, JB and iM financial holding groups posted asset growth in the first quarter, but their profit structures diverged. Combined net profit rose 9.9 percent from a year earlier to 532 billion won. BNK’s profit jumped 26.9 percent, while JB and iM were little changed. Differences emerged in non-interest income, expenses and asset quality indicators. All three saw capital units strengthen their role in earnings and expanded shareholder return policies.

iM Financial posts Q1 net profit of 154.5 billion won, up slightly on year
iM Financial Group said on April 28 its first-quarter 2026 net profit attributable to controlling shareholders came to 154.5 billion won, up 0.1 percent from a year earlier. Interest income rose 4.6 percent, and non-interest income gained 8.3 percent on higher fee revenue. Its main unit iM Bank posted net profit of 120.6 billion won. iM Financial also announced a 40.0 billion won share buyback and cancellation plan.

iM Financial posts 443.9 billion won net profit for 2025, up 106.6 percent
iM Financial Group said on Thursday its 2025 net profit attributable to controlling shareholders rose 106.6 percent from a year earlier to 443.9 billion won. It said loan-loss provision expenses fell sharply in 2025 after the group made proactive provisions related to securities firms’ PF in 2024 and strengthened asset quality and soundness management. The group’s estimated CET1 ratio rose 0.39 percentage points to 12.11 percent.
