Xgate files patent for AI-based next-generation security technology
Network security firm Xgate said on Monday it has filed a patent for AI-based next-generation security technology. The company said the patented technology focuses on identifying and deriving applications in network communications without decrypting encrypted traffic. It said more than 90 percent of traffic handled by firewall devices is encrypted and typically requires decryption to determine harmful sites and application types. Xgate said its AI library can avoid such constraints and identify applications by sending only part of the traffic.
