Naver, Kakao set to post record first-quarter results led by commerce and ads

Uber considers buying control of Kakao Mobility?
Uber and Kakao Mobility both appeared to distance themselves from reports that Uber is weighing an acquisition of management control of Kakao Mobility. Uber was reported to have conveyed its intent to the major shareholder side and to be conducting due diligence in connection with a possible stake purchase. Kakao Mobility cited lack of knowledge, while a local Uber Taxi official said there was no official position and that it was being checked.

Kakao Mobility operating profit rises for third straight year as profitability improves
Kakao Mobility kept its operating profit rising for a third consecutive year, according to its business report. It reported 2025 annual sales of 739.3 billion won and operating profit of 115.5 billion won, up 9.5 percent and 24.2 percent, respectively, from a year earlier. The operating margin improved to 15.6 percent. Platform services drove growth, while net profit rose 78.0 percent and accumulated losses and debt fell.
