SK Nexilis develops high-adhesion carbon-coated copper foil, targets mass production in second half of 2027

SK Nexilis has secured copper foil materials technology for next-generation batteries, developing a high-adhesion carbon-coated copper foil by coating the surface with special carbon. The company said the technology aims to reduce delamination of active materials from copper foil in battery electrodes by improving adhesion with anode materials. It is designed to respond to higher silicon content in anodes and to be used in dry electrode processes. The company plans pilot production and targets commercialization in the second half of 2027.
