Tighter rules on spin-off listings as new review standards for duplicate listings take effect Aug 3
Subsidiaries created through a physical split must obtain parent-company shareholder approval to seek a duplicate listing on South Korea\'s stock market. Other subsidiaries will be presumed to meet shareholder-protection requirements if they secure approval, but will face stricter case-by-case reviews by the Korea Exchange if they do not. The Financial Services Commission approved amended listing and disclosure rules and new guidelines, which take effect on Aug. 3.

Toss Bank wins full licence for financial investment business, eyes fund sales in second half
Toss Bank has obtained full approval to operate a financial investment business and will move into fund sales in the second half of the year. The bank said on May 14 it received the licence from South Korea’s Financial Services Commission for investment dealing and brokerage related to collective investment securities. The approval allows Toss Bank to sell publicly offered funds, and it plans to roll out fund investment services to customers within the year.

NH Investment & Securities posts Q1 operating profit of 636.7 billion won, up 120.3 percent
NH Investment & Securities said on Wednesday it posted a first-quarter operating profit of 636.7 billion won and net profit of 475.7 billion won, its best quarterly results on record. Operating profit rose 120.3 percent from a year earlier and net profit climbed 128.5 percent. Brokerage fee income surged, helped by a jump in domestic stock trading value. Investment banking and asset management results also improved, and wealth management interest income increased.
