AI, 6G, semiconductor ideas compete at ICT Challenge 2026 awards
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held the ICT Challenge 2026 awards ceremony and a meeting with winning students on Aug. 26 with IITP and a university research centre association. The contest pits master\'s and doctoral students in ministry-backed programmes on the technical merit, marketability and commercialisation potential of research ideas. This year drew 206 teams from 39 universities. Sixteen teams won after mentoring from KT and AWS Korea staff.

Interbiz Bio Forum opens in Jeju to discuss investment cooperation
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said the 24th Interbiz Bio Partnering & Investment Forum 2026 opened on Tuesday at Phoenix Island in Jeju. The event brings together biohealth industry, academia, research institutes, ventures and investors to discuss technology transfer and investment cooperation. The forum runs through July 3 with about 2,100 participants from about 630 organisations and companies, holding one-on-one partnering meetings, investment consultations, technology consulting and networking.

Shinhan Bank builds financial partnership with Hoseo University
Shinhan Bank will act as a key financial partner for Hoseo University, providing financial services needed to run the school and strengthening tailored support for students and faculty. The bank said it signed a memorandum of understanding with the university on June 1 at Hoseo University\'s Asan campus in Asan, South Chungcheong Province. Under the agreement, the bank will also support issuing student IDs that double as debit cards.
