Shinhan Financial combines generative AI with accountability framework to advance internal controls
Shinhan Financial Group is integrating generative AI into its accountability framework-based internal control management system. The group said it has completed SCoRE AI for its shared internal control platform, the Shinhan Responsibility Performance Management System, and will begin official operations on June 29. The tool summarises and analyses departmental checks, supports executives’ obligations, verifies evidence automatically and briefs external issues such as financial incidents, sanctions and legal changes.

Mytos shock prompts finance watchdog to ease network separation rules in turning point for sector AX
South Korea\'s financial sector is on alert after the emergence of high-performance AI model Mytos, which is seen as capable of planning and carrying out hacking attacks. The Financial Services Commission said it will temporarily ease network separation rules to allow AI use for security purposes at large financial companies and will expand the scope in stages. It also said it will consider fully lifting the rules for firms with strong security and AI capabilities.

FSS, KOFIA hold workshop for asset managers\' compliance officers, discuss AI and ETF controls
South Korea\'s Financial Supervisory Service and the Korea Financial Investment Association held a workshop for asset management firms\' compliance officers to strengthen internal controls. The FSS said it covered recurring simple issues at firms, progress on introducing an accountability framework, and precautions for operating exchange-traded funds. The industry presented cases of using AI to improve compliance efficiency, guidelines for adopting AI, and points to note on ETF advertising rules.
