How to respond to AI-driven security threats? Tech firms expand alliance
Debate is intensifying over how to respond to new security threats emerging from the spread of AI, with alliances expanding beyond security firms to include semiconductor and platform companies. Nvidia-led Open Secure AI Alliance formed a first working group and released proposals for confidential reporting and post-incident analysis. Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue called for mandatory disclosure of hacks targeting AI firms. Reports and tests also raised concerns about AI misuse, vulnerabilities and faster exploitation.

XGate to apply AI to network security to advance zero trust security
Moves by companies across sectors toward AI-based security are accelerating, with South Korean firms stepping up “security plus AI” strategies. XGate, which specialises in network security such as VPNs and firewalls, is also strengthening AI. Executive director Kim Han-yong (김한용) said the company is focusing on reinforcing areas it already does well rather than targeting entirely new domains. He outlined efforts to use AI for log analysis, easier policy creation and improved firewall hardware efficiency, while also aligning products with zero trust security needs.

XGate hires former Geneians executive Kim Jun-hyung as VP of sales
South Korean network security firm XGate said on Monday it has hired Kim Jun-hyung, formerly of Geneians, as vice president in charge of sales. Kim previously served as head of the business division at Geneians. XGate also carried out an organisational overhaul centred on separating its business and management functions. Existing vice president Kim Tae-hwa will oversee the management planning headquarters, focusing on finance, HR and other management areas, and on expanding into the defence industry.
