DDR5 RAM prices surge 5.5-fold, seen worsening in 2027
DDR5 memory prices have climbed more than fivefold from levels seen before the memory crisis, raising cost pressure in the PC and laptop markets. TechRadar reported Germany’s DDR5 price index rose as much as 544 percent from July 2025. In the United States, a DDR5-5600 32GB kit is about $409, up from a prior low of $72. Rising SSD and GPU prices are also lifting costs and could keep pressure into 2027.

MacBook Air shortage worsens, deliveries delayed up to five weeks
Apple\'s MacBook Air supply shortage is deepening, pushing delivery waits for some configurations to more than a month. TechRadar reported most models on Apple\'s online store show estimated delivery of 2 to 3 weeks, while versions with 32GB of RAM can take 4 to 5 weeks. The report cited RAM shortages across the PC hardware industry and said delays persist despite a $200 price increase for the MacBook Air M5 in early June.

Dell unveils six new XPS and Alienware products, from 1 kg ultralight laptop to 330 Hz gaming monitor
Dell Technologies on Wednesday unveiled six new products, including premium consumer XPS laptops and Alienware gaming laptops and monitors. The lineup includes the 1 kg XPS 13 with a 2.5K touch display and Intel Wi-Fi 7, and the XPS 16 Creator Edition featuring Nvidia’s RTX Spark AI PC platform. Alienware also introduced a 15.3-inch gaming laptop and three monitors, including a 39-inch 5K OLED model supporting 1080p at 330 Hz.
