XGate hires former Geneians executive Kim Jun-hyung as VP of sales
South Korean network security firm XGate said on Monday it has hired Kim Jun-hyung, formerly of Geneians, as vice president in charge of sales. Kim previously served as head of the business division at Geneians. XGate also carried out an organisational overhaul centred on separating its business and management functions. Existing vice president Kim Tae-hwa will oversee the management planning headquarters, focusing on finance, HR and other management areas, and on expanding into the defence industry.

Security hot issue: N2SF rollout nears as security buzz rises; countries scramble to respond to Mythos
With South Korea set to implement the National Cybersecurity Basic Guidelines in May and introduce the N2SF framework, security companies are accelerating efforts to target expected demand for related solutions. The guidelines include data controls based on classification levels, minimum security budget and staffing ratios, mandatory multi-factor authentication and new measures for AI systems and private cloud security. Interest is also rising in Anthropic’s Mythos AI model, prompting governments and companies to prepare responses.

XGate wins KCMVP certification for PQC-based crypto module
XGate said on Tuesday its post-quantum cryptography-based hybrid cryptographic module has received KCMVP certification from South Korea\'s National Intelligence Service. KCMVP is a state verification scheme for cryptographic performance in security products introduced to the government and public institutions. XGate said it has now secured certification for both hardware-based QRNG and software-based PQC. The company plans to accelerate efforts to capture markets requiring top-level security, including defense, public sector and finance.
