Woori Financial Group wins presidential citation for supporting police officers and bereaved families
Woori Financial Group received a presidential citation for supporting police officers who died or were injured in the line of duty and their bereaved families. Woori Financial said its Woori Finance Foundation won the award on Oct. 21, marking the 81st Police Day. The recognition cited the foundation’s “Woori Hero” programme. From 2022 to 2025 it provided 900 million won to 220 police officers and families, and plans further support this year.

The foundation said on June 5 it will run the 2026 Woori Hero Remembrance Campaign in June, South Korea\'s month of remembrance and patriotism. The online campaign runs on the group\'s official social media channels through June 30, with selected messages turned into AI videos.

Woori Financial to provide scholarships to 200 children of service members
Woori Financial Group\'s Woori Financial Future Foundation said on April 14 it has created a new \"Woori Financial National Defense Scholarship\" to support children of service members who have devoted themselves to the country. The foundation will select 200 scholarship recipients each year and provide 1 million won per person. Applications run through June 30, with scholarships to be paid in September after screening.
