Salesforce will acquire AI-based marketing platform company Braze for about $5.66 billion, CNBC reported on Oct. 20.

Salesforce plans to complete the transaction within fiscal 2028 after shareholder and regulatory approvals.

On the acquisition news, trading in Braze shares was briefly halted before the market opened. The stock then surged more than 51 percent to end at $45.57, CNBC reported.

Braze provides AI marketing tools that manage customer data and messaging.

Bill Magnuson (빌 매그너슨), Braze CEO, said, "We will continue to build products under the Braze name and continue investing in the customers and partners who have built the company together." He added, "We will accelerate the pace of innovation on the Salesforce platform and help marketers around the world build deeper and longer-lasting relationships with their customers."

Salesforce announced a few months ago that it would also acquire AI customer service platform Fin for about $3.6 billion. G
