AI factory build in Korea leaves server, cooling supply chain tied to Taiwan
Construction of gigawatt-scale AI factories in South Korea is getting under way, but server assembly and liquid-cooling component supply chains are controlled by Taiwanese companies, raising concerns that Korean materials and parts suppliers are being sidelined. Nvidia plans to ship fully assembled compute trays from its next-generation Vera Rubin platform, narrowing assembly partners to Foxconn, Quanta and Wistron. Cooling component suppliers Auras and AVC have also taken an early lead.

Tata Electronics admits data breach after 630GB of files posted on hacker forum
Indian electronics and semiconductor company Tata Electronics, a key supplier to Apple and Tesla, has formally acknowledged a data leak after 630GB of internal materials appeared on a hacker forum. Tata Electronics said it detected a cybersecurity incident in some systems and activated response procedures, adding operations were unaffected. Security researchers said sample files included Apple supply-chain specifications and apparent Tesla manufacturing documents, but the authenticity and full scope were not independently verified.

Taiwan considers sweeping controls on AI chip exports to China
Taiwan is reviewing a plan to tighten restrictions on exports of AI chips to all customers in China, potentially extending controls beyond blacklisted firms and criminalising AI server smuggling. The debate centres on how closely Taiwan will align with U.S. export-control standards. Taiwan’s economy ministry said it will strengthen oversight of strategic high-tech products and is consulting the United States on adding advanced chips to controls.
