KB Kookmin Bank discusses digital asset future with Kakao, says banking role is trust
KB Kookmin Bank said it discussed the development direction of the digital asset market with Kakao Group and presented the roles banks can play in the digital asset ecosystem, including reserve asset management and anti-money laundering. The bank said it co-hosted the Next Finance Korea 2026 conference at the Westin Seoul Parnas. About 150 industry participants attended. Executives said finance’s core remains trust and banks can serve as a “Trust Layer.”

Global asset manager Franklin Templeton, venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle will take part in Eastpoint: Seoul 2026, a closed-door digital asset conference to be held on Sept. 28. The event in Seoul will bring together a small group of policymakers, global institutions and Web3 leaders to discuss South Korea’s digital asset market and global institutional adoption trends.

Global AI scholars gather in Seoul for Global AI Frontier Symposium
An international symposium bringing together AI researchers and representatives from global companies and research institutes was held in Seoul to discuss the latest research results and industrial applications. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation hosted the Global AI Frontier Symposium 2026. The event features keynote speeches, a panel discussion on industry-academia-government cooperation, and six specialist tracks covering core AI technologies and use cases.
