EDX Markets raises $76 million in SBI Holdings-led Series C round
EDX Markets, a cryptocurrency exchange for institutional investors, raised $76 million in a Series C funding round led by SBI Holdings, Cointelegraph reported on Monday. The company plans to use the funds to expand spot trading, clearing and settlement services, and to develop new products and expand overseas. EDX Markets operates a U.S.-focused institutional spot exchange and also offers a Singapore-based perpetual futures exchange for eligible institutional clients outside the United States.

Tradeweb processes real-time trading of tokenised U.S. Treasuries on Canton network
Tradeweb processed a real-time on-chain transaction in tokenised U.S. Treasuries on the Canton Network, the article said. Franklin Templeton transferred tokenised U.S. Treasuries to Virtu Financial, with payment settled using tokenised cash based on USDCx, a USDC-linked stablecoin issued on Canton, according to a recent Cointelegraph report. Tradeweb handled execution and price discovery, while Canton synchronised asset and cash settlement. The deal size was not disclosed.

Wall Street-backed crypto exchange EDX Markets applies for bank charter to expand custody, settlement services
Crypto exchange EDX Markets, backed by Wall Street firms including Citadel Securities, Fidelity Investments and Charles Schwab, has applied for a U.S. national bank charter. The Block reported the company submitted an application to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, seeking approval to offer custody, asset management and trade settlement services. Other crypto companies such as Bridge, Ripple, Circle, BitGo, Fidelity Digital Assets and Paxos have also applied.
