Skepticism grows over frontier AI as China\'s low-cost models close in; OpenAI, Anthropic under scrutiny
A claim has emerged that the heavy investment burden carried by U.S. frontier AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic could become a risk factor as low-cost Chinese AI models catch up. Robot industry to shift to general-purpose AI models, General Intuition says
The robot industry is expected to move beyond developing separate AI for each device and reorganise around large, general-purpose AI models that can be applied across many robots. Robot AI startup General Intuition said the current approach of building different models for each robot is likely to be replaced over time by general-purpose foundation models. It said it trained a model using millions of hours of video game data and later fine-tuned it with minutes of real robot data.
