SpaceX to block Starlink GPS-alternative location feature as low-Earth orbit navigation race intensifies
Starlink will stop providing a location-information feature it has offered to some users from May 20, local time. The feature has been used as a de facto auxiliary navigation tool in environments where GPS signals are jammed. SpaceX earlier acknowledged Starlink could provide positioning, navigation and timing services, and some users accessed dish location data through the app’s debug menu. SpaceX did not explain why it is ending the feature, as interest in GPS alternatives grows.

Coinbase urges crypto industry to prepare for quantum computing threat in first position paper
Coinbase has issued its first official position paper urging the cryptocurrency industry to take early action against threats posed by quantum computing. Its independent advisory board warned that while digital assets are safe today, quantum computers capable of breaking blockchain cryptography will eventually emerge. The board identified wallet-level signatures as the biggest weak point, citing migration costs and coordination challenges, and flagged risks from lost keys and inactive wallets that may not upgrade.

AI power users more likely managers than juniors, KPMG analysis of 1.4 million prompts shows
How employees use AI tools, rather than how often they use them, can determine performance, an analysis found. KPMG and a University of Texas at Austin team reviewed 1.4 million AI prompts produced by 2,500 employees over eight months and assessed conversations using OpenAI\'s reasoning model ChatGPT o1. Only 5 percent qualified as advanced users, even though 90 percent used AI regularly. Advanced users were more often managers than juniors.
