Polymarket overhauls trading engine, smart contracts to introduce in-house stablecoin

Onchain prediction market Polymarket plans a sweeping platform overhaul, including rebuilding its trading engine and introducing an in-house stablecoin, The Block reported on April 6. Polymarket said it will upgrade its full exchange stack over the next 2 to 3 weeks, rolling out new smart contracts, a new order book and a new collateral token. The upgrade includes Polymarket CTF Exchange V2 and adds support for EIP-1271.

Polymarket partners with Circle to switch to native USDC on Polygon

Polymarket is partnering with Circle to replace the bridged USDC.e it used on Polygon with native USDC, The Block reported on Feb. 5. Polymarket has converted funds coming in from chains including Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum and Base into USDC.e for trading and settlement. Circle plans to roll out a Polymarket-specific native USDC in the coming months.
