Motif Technologies joins Korea\'s indigenous AI foundation model project in four-way round two race

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT on Thursday announced results of an additional call for its Indigenous AI Foundation Model project, selecting Motif Technologies as a new elite team. The project enters a second round with four teams: LG AI Research, Upstage, SK Telecom and Motif Technologies. Teams will develop AI models through mid-2026, with all four to undergo a second-stage evaluation around early August. Motif will receive Nvidia B200 GPUs and data-related support.

Additional call for DokpaMo project receives applications from Motif Technologies and Trillion Labs

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said 2 consortia submitted proposals in an additional call for 1 elite team for its “domestic AI foundation model” project. The ministry opened the call from Jan. 23 to Feb. 12 after Naver Cloud and NC AI were eliminated in the first-stage evaluation, reducing the number of elite teams to 3. The additional team will receive GPU resources and data support, and will be labeled a “K-AI company.”
