Thales, Google Cloud team up on AI agent security to support real-time monitoring and control
French defence and security company Thales will expand cooperation with Google Cloud, Techzine reported on Sept. 29. Thales will combine its AI Security Fabric with Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The aim is to help companies protect, manage and monitor in real time interactions among users, agents, models and tools. Thales said AI agents create new attack paths that existing security architectures struggle to block, and cited risks including prompt injection and sensitive data leakage.

Big banks expand bitcoin custody vaults, but key issue turns to quantum computers
Global big banks are expanding bitcoin custody as a strategic business, but a report warns today’s crypto custody infrastructure could face structural risks in a future quantum-computing era. Swiss digital asset technology company Taurus said major custodians carry significant risk during a shift to quantum-resistant cryptography. It said upgrades require blockchain protocol changes and broad coordination. The report argues MPC may face bigger hurdles than HSM, though the view is contested.

EU to allocate two-thirds of key satellite spectrum to European firms
The European Union is nearing a plan to give European companies priority access to two-thirds of key spectrum used for mobile satellite communications. If implemented, SpaceX\'s Starlink and Amazon\'s Kuiper would likely compete only for the remaining third. The move centres on the 2 GHz band used to connect phones and vehicles directly in areas beyond terrestrial networks. Current licences held by Viasat and EchoStar expire in May 2027.
