Fisker EV owners reverse-engineer software after bankruptcy

Owners of Fisker electric vehicles are reverse-engineering software and developing open-source tools to keep their cars running after the company went bankrupt. Fisker Ocean owners have set up a nonprofit, the Fisker Owners Association, to coordinate maintenance and repairs. They are hiring independent experts, sharing firmware and repair know-how and jointly buying parts. The group is also pressing U.S. regulators on recall obligations and discussing insurance coverage.
