Tesla posts record Q2 2026 deliveries of 480,126, beating Wall Street by 74,000
Tesla delivered 480,126 vehicles in the second quarter of 2026, beating market expectations by a wide margin, foreign media including Electrek reported. Deliveries rose 25 percent from a year earlier and marked Tesla\'s highest-ever second-quarter total, reversing a two-year stretch of year-on-year declines. The company produced 451,758 vehicles. Energy storage deployments rose to 13.5 GWh, up more than 40 percent, but slightly missed expectations.

Michael Saylor, who leads Strategy, posted on social media a chart showing MSTR’s ratio of derivatives open interest to market capitalisation at 71.9 percent, saying market interest tops big tech. The stock is increasingly seen as a listed way to leverage bitcoin volatility. Strategy holds 847,363 bitcoin at an average purchase price of $75,646, with unrealised losses exceeding $11.7 billion as bitcoin trades around $61,000. STRD and STRK preferred shares were also cited as a burden.

BYD beats Tesla again, delivers 557,090 EVs in Q2 to regain global top spot
BYD delivered 557,090 battery electric vehicles in the second quarter of 2026 to regain the lead in the global BEV market. Tesla deliveries for the same period are estimated at about 396,500, leaving BYD ahead by more than 160,000 vehicles. BYD attributed the renewed gap to expanding overseas sales and said overseas sales could reach 1.5 million in 2026, above its official target of 1.3 million.
