CATL unveils world\'s first demonstrated sodium-ion battery ESS, sets commercial supply timeline
CATL unveiled a sodium-ion battery-based energy storage system and provided a commercial supply timeline, marking a shift from research to large-scale deployment. The company introduced its Tener Sodium system in Munich and said it has secured technology, production capacity and supply chains. CATL plans first deliveries in China in September and aims to ship a cumulative 1 GWh by end-2026, with global supply starting in June 2027.
