South Korea crypto trading volume falls 28 percent as funds shift to AI, semiconductors

South Korea\'s cryptocurrency trading volume fell 28 percent from a year earlier, the biggest decline among major global markets. U.Today reported that South Korea remained the world\'s No. 2 market for retail crypto activity in the first quarter of 2026, but actual trading contracted sharply. TRM Labs data showed the United States led retail activity with $212 billion in trading. Funds are shifting to domestic stocks, led by strong gains in AI and semiconductors.
