Hanwha Semitech unveils chip mounters and AMR at SMT exhibition
Hanwha Semitech unveiled its next-generation chip mounter products at South Korea’s largest surface-mount technology exhibition. The company said it is taking part in SSPA 2026, which opened on Wednesday at Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi province, and is showcasing new products including the DECAN S1 Plus and DECAN S2 Plus. It also displayed the HM520W high-speed chip mounter, the T-solution software, and an autonomous mobile robot making its domestic debut.

Samsung Electronics activates three pillars of AI growth drivers
Samsung Electronics on March 18 set out its 2026 business strategy around three pillars: semiconductors, devices and robots, aiming to accelerate a shift to an AI-centered structure. It highlighted an IDM advantage spanning memory, foundry, logic design and packaging, and presented plans for memory, foundry and System LSI. At Nvidia GTC 2026, it unveiled an HBM4E chip and packaging. It also outlined plans to double Galaxy AI devices and move robots into deployment.

Samsung Electronics vice chairman vows to lead AI transition to reach 1,000 trillion won market value
Samsung Electronics held its 57th annual general meeting of shareholders on Tuesday in Suwon and unveiled its 2026 AI business direction. Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun, who chaired the meeting, said the company posted record annual revenue of 333.6 trillion won last year and its market value topped 1,000 trillion won. He said Samsung will continue investment and R&D spending and plans regular and additional dividends for 2025.
