Autonomous A2Z said on Wednesday it has secured the first government approval in South Korea’s autonomous driving sector to export technology designated as a national core technology. It delivered the export approval document to its local joint venture in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. The approval follows President Lee Jae-myung’s state visit to the UAE in November, after which the company set up a Middle East autonomous driving joint venture with Space42.

Autonomous A2Z said on Feb. 26 it secured the first export approval in the autonomous driving field for a technology designated by the government as a national core technology. The company delivered the approval certificate to its local joint venture in Abu Dhabi with a special envoy delegation led by the presidential chief of staff. It said it formed a Middle East autonomous driving joint venture with UAE AI firm Space42 and plans to deploy Level 4 vehicles in the UAE.
