Naver grapples with pricing in AI investment ahead of monetisation
Naver’s first-quarter revenue rose 16.3 percent from a year earlier, but operating profit grew 7.2 percent as AI infrastructure investment and content procurement costs were incurred first. Its operating margin fell to 16.7 percent from 19.1 percent in the previous quarter. Infrastructure costs rose 32.5 percent and partner and marketing expenses also increased. Naver plans to step up AI advertising monetisation from the second half.

Kurly to raise 33 billion won in share sale to Naver, valued at 2.8 trillion won
Kurly will issue 33 billion won of new shares to Naver to secure mid- to long-term growth drivers and strengthen their partnership. Kurly disclosed it decided on a rights offering of 498,882 common shares priced at 66,148 won each, all to be subscribed by Naver. The price was set by mutual agreement based on Kurly\'s latest investment round, valuing the company at about 2.8 trillion won and raising Naver\'s stake to 6.2 percent.
