MSIT launches smart village city-province council to spread regional digital services
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is setting up a cooperation framework with metropolitan-level local governments to expand digital-based regional services. The ministry held a launch ceremony on Sept. 14 for the Smart Village City-Province Council with nationwide metropolitan governments. Launched in 2019, the smart village project uses digital technology to improve residents’ daily convenience and address local issues. The council will discuss policy direction, institutional improvements and share best practices.
