Bitcoin DeFi Solv Protocol loses $2.7 million in hack
Bitcoin-based DeFi platform Solv Protocol suffered a hacking attack in which about $2.7 million worth of bitcoin-linked token SolvBTC was stolen, Cointelegraph reported on March 6. The project offered the hacker a 10 percent bounty and asked for the funds to be returned. It said fewer than 10 users were affected and pledged compensation for 38.05 SolvBTC. Security experts said the attack exploited a smart contract reentrancy flaw.

Clawdbot AI assistant warns of personal data and API key leaks
Clawdbot, an AI assistant gaining viral attention, faces a security vulnerability that could lead to leaks of personal data and API keys, Cointelegraph reported on Jan. 27. Blockchain security firm SlowMist said an exposed Clawdbot gateway increased the risk of hundreds of API keys and private chat records being disclosed. A researcher warned that exposed servers could be easily identified and accessed, enabling broad control over user systems.

2025 blockchain hacking losses hit $2.94 billion, concentrated at centralised exchanges
A 2025 blockchain security report estimates about $2.935 billion in losses from nearly 200 security incidents. The number of incidents fell from 2024, but the total loss value rose 46 percent, indicating bigger losses per case. SlowMist said Ethereum suffered the largest ecosystem loss at about $254 million. DeFi projects accounted for 63 percent of incidents, while centralised exchanges saw the biggest losses, including a $1.46 billion Bybit hack.
