Synopsys unveils Silicon-to-Systems vision after Ansys acquisition
Synopsys presented a new product development approach as AI spreads across physical products such as cars, medical devices and industrial equipment. The semiconductor design software company said it unveiled its Silicon-to-Systems vision after acquiring engineering simulation company Ansys. Synopsys said the approach connects decisions made in chip design to system-level outcomes and reflects limits of sequential development. It added that shift-left verification, AI-assisted design and evolving digital twins are gaining importance.

ADTechnology hits 3.695 GHz using Samsung 2-nanometre process
ADTechnology achieved a 3.695 GHz clock speed with its HPC CPU, ADP620, built on Samsung Electronics\' foundry 2-nanometre process. The company unveiled the design result and its mass-production roadmap on May 29 at the Samsung Semiconductor Campus in San Jose during the Samsung Foundry SAFE Forum 2026. It said its CAPELLA optimisation platform and POLK IP library improved chip-level power, performance and area efficiency.

Infineon aims to reshape automotive chip ecosystem with RISC-V
Infineon Technologies is restructuring its automotive microcontroller business around a RISC-V-based MCU lineup, moving away from ARM-based designs. The company said adopting an open standard instruction set will strengthen OEM-led development and reduce supply-chain dependence risks. It unveiled a new AURIX RISC-V roadmap in Seoul, spanning entry-level to high-performance applications, alongside existing AURIX TC, TRAVEO and PSOC portfolios. Executives highlighted modular ISA benefits, safety and security, scalability, virtual prototyping and partnerships to speed customers’ time to market.
