C-commerce users drop after ad spending cuts
The growth of C-commerce platforms such as AliExpress, Temu and Shein has slowed in South Korea, with both user numbers and payment volumes falling, according to app analytics and payments data. Industry observers attributed the decline mainly to reduced performance marketing spending. Sensor Tower data showed large cuts in digital advertising budgets in 2025. MobileIndex data also showed a sharp drop in new installs. Surveys cited consumer concerns over data security and lower customer service satisfaction.
