Amazon first discloses data centre water use at 9.4 billion litres a year
Amazon for the first time disclosed the amount of water it used to run data centres worldwide, saying it consumed about 2.5 billion gallons, or roughly 9.5 billion litres, last year. The company said its data centres used an average of 0.12 litres of water per kilowatt hour of electricity, and that total water use fell 2 percent from a year earlier. Critics note the figure excludes indirect water use at power plants and during construction.

Naver to revamp AI content ecosystem with citation-based support for creators
Naver is pushing to strengthen its AI creator ecosystem while upgrading AI search, saying competition is shifting from model performance to data, content quality and user experience. It will launch a creator support program, Naver Mate, in June that pays incentives based on how often AI Briefing cites a creator’s posts. Naver will also open its AI tab to all users in late June and expand AI Briefing coverage to 40 percent this year.

SKT says AI control system kept cherry blossom festival traffic stable
SK Telecom said it provided stable communications services during a cherry blossom festival that ran through April 7 by applying an AI-based core network control system. SKT said 44.9 terabytes of mobile data were used last weekend alone at Seokchon Lake and Yeouido festival areas, 1.5 times the previous weekend. It operated its SPIDER system and the A-One network operating system to respond in advance and take immediate action through real-time monitoring.
