AI security agent detects 92 percent of DeFi smart contract vulnerabilities, outperforms general models
An AI security-focused agent detected 92 percent of vulnerabilities in decentralised finance (DeFi) smart contracts that had been hacked, a report said, citing research released by security firm Securo. The study examined 90 contracts hacked between October 2024 and early 2026, with verified losses of $228 million. Securo’s agent identified vulnerabilities linked to $96.8 million, while a GPT-5.1-based coding agent detected 34 percent, covering $7.5 million.
