SK Hynix CEO Kawk No-jeong (곽노정) received 26.1 billion won in the first half of 2026, while Samsung Electronics CEO Jeon Young-hyun (전영현) received 2.4 billion won, according to the companies’ semiannual filings. SK Hynix’s directors and auditors received 33.6 billion won in total compensation, with 79.3 percent tied to stock-based rewards. Samsung Electronics reported no unexercised stock options granted to its directors, auditors or executive officers as of mid-2026.

South Korean stocks rise for fifth day, KOSPI nears 7,000
South Korean shares rose for a fifth straight session this week, with the KOSPI closing near the 7,000 mark after briefly moving above it in intraday trading. Foreign investors were net buyers, while retail investors sold, showing a clear split in flows. Large-cap stocks including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix ended higher. The Kosdaq also finished up, and the won strengthened slightly against the dollar.

MakinaRocks first-half sales hit 7 billion won, up 168 percent year-on-year
Physical AI company MakinaRocks said on Thursday its consolidated first-half revenue rose 168 percent from a year earlier to 7 billion won. Its operating loss narrowed 28 percent to 4.2 billion won. New orders in the first half exceeded 20 billion won, more than triple the year-earlier level, and surpassed last year’s full-year total. The company also said its financial structure improved after a KOSDAQ listing in May.
