Woori Financial first-half net profit 1.61 trillion won, non-bank contribution rises to 22.3%
Woori Financial Group posted first-half net profit attributable to owners of the parent of 1.609 trillion won, up 3.7% from a year earlier, helped by higher capital markets fee income and the effect of consolidating an insurer. Second-quarter profit rose 66.4% from the previous quarter to 1.005 trillion won. Non-bank units’ share of group profit rose to 22.3%. The group announced a 220 won per share cash dividend for the second quarter.

Korean banks\' loan delinquency rate rises to 0.67%; SME delinquency tops 1 percent
South Korean banks\' delinquency rate on won-denominated loans rose for a second straight month, driven by an increase in new delinquencies and a decline in the amount of delinquent loans written off or sold. The Financial Supervisory Service said the rate stood at 0.67% at end-May, up 0.06 percentage point from a month earlier. The delinquency rate on SME loans rose to 1.00%, while household loan delinquencies increased to 0.45%.

IBK Industrial Bank of Korea 2025 net profit up 2.4 percent to 2.7 trillion won
IBK Industrial Bank of Korea said on Feb. 5 its 2025 net profit was 2.72 trillion won on a consolidated basis and 2.39 trillion won on a separate basis. The bank said earnings were supported by improved non-interest income from investment in promising innovative firms and exchange-rate stability, and by lower funding costs as it expanded lending to small and medium-sized businesses.
