Smilegate\'s \'Beborocks\' to be held at SETEC this year; exhibition teams sought until July 27

Smilegate has begun recruiting exhibition teams for the indie game festival Beborocks 2026. Smilegate Future Lab said on May 19 it will accept applications until July 27 for indie game teams and individuals taking part in the event in December. The fifth edition will be held on a larger scale at Halls 1 and 2 of SETEC in Seoul from Dec. 18 to 20. Participants will receive free booths and devices, feedback reports, awards and networking support.

Ministry of Science and ICT reports results of quantum‑resistant cryptography rollout in energy, healthcare and administration

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said it has applied quantum‑resistant cryptography to systems in the energy, healthcare and administrative sectors and shared results at a Seoul event. Korea Electric Power Corp, Raonsecure and LG Uplus presented pilot cases. The ministry said the transition produced 16 cryptographic modules and 19 conversion cases and resolved performance issues, including use on low‑spec devices. It plans to broaden support to telecoms, defence and finance next year.
