Huawei says AI demand surging, urges faster 5G Advanced rollout
Huawei urged faster large-scale commercialisation of 5G Advanced as a way to respond immediately to rapidly rising artificial intelligence demand, despite ongoing discussions on 6G standards. Executive Vice President Yang Chaobin cited sharp growth in AI-related traffic and use of AI agents across industries. He said 5G Advanced could boost downlink speeds to 10 Gbps and lift uplink to about 1 Gbps, while calling for flexible spectrum regulation and broader connectivity.
