Vice PM Bae holds talks in Belgium with EU on AI, science and technology cooperation
South Korea\'s Vice Prime Minister Bae Kyeong-hoon (배경훈) met a European Union executive commissioner in Brussels to discuss ways to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence and science and technology, the science ministry said. He accompanied President Lee Jae-myung on a state visit to Belgium and the EU. Bae also met Korean researchers at IMEC and discussed Horizon Europe participation, joint research in AI-driven innovation, advanced biotech and quantum technology, and wider researcher exchanges.

Ku Hyuk-chae discusses AI, quantum, 6G cooperation with Finland
Ku Hyuk-chae (구혁채), first vice minister at South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, met Finland\'s Minister of Employment and the Economy Sakari Puisto in Seoul on Monday to discuss cooperation in science, technology and digital fields. The sides confirmed complementarities between Finland\'s foundational technologies and South Korea\'s manufacturing and process technologies in areas such as AI, quantum and 6G. They also welcomed the launch of seven joint Horizon Europe projects worth about 206.5 billion won and agreed to expand their partnership by revising a digital economy cooperation MOU.

MSIT holds K-Moonshot policy strategy seminar
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korean Society of Management of Technology Economics held a seminar on April 17 to explore directions for science and technology innovation in the artificial intelligence era. Participants discussed the government\'s K-Moonshot strategy, a national-scale project to tackle key challenges by combining AI and science and technology. Presentations covered mission-oriented innovation policy trends and science and technology policy shifts in the AI era, followed by a panel discussion on R&D projects and system innovation.
