Rapolabs withdraws application to acquire SK Stoa; broadcast media commission warns of strict review on refiling
Rapolabs, which is pursuing the acquisition of SK Stoa, withdrew its application for approval to change the home-shopping broadcaster’s largest shareholder. The Korea Communications Commission ended its review process after being notified of the withdrawal. A review panel had said Rapolabs’ financing and operating plans did not meet approval standards. Rapolabs said it has not abandoned the acquisition and plans to reapply after revising its contract with SK Telecom.

Queenit targets large fashion platform for 40s and 50s with SK Stoa acquisition
Queenit operator RapoLabs is expanding into T-commerce through an acquisition of SK Stoa, aiming to build a large fashion platform focused on consumers in their 40s and 50s. RapoLabs has applied for regulatory approval to change SK Stoa’s largest shareholder after signing a share purchase agreement with SK Telecom to buy 100 percent of stakes held in SK Stoa and Media S for about 110 billion won. The review could take more than three months.
