X raises API link-posting fee 1,900 percent, hitting automated accounts
X, formerly Twitter, has sharply raised the cost of posting links via third-party social media management tools, increasing the per-link fee for API posts to $0.20 from $0.01, a 20-fold jump. It also halted API support for follows, likes and quote posts. The changes are expected to hit services and accounts that post link-heavy content in volume. Techmeme has already shifted away from posting titles with links.

WordPress launches in-browser website building tool
WordPress has unveiled a new tool that allows users to create a website directly in a web browser, The Verge reported on March 12. The tool is accessible at my.WordPress.net and lets users build a site without signing up, arranging hosting or choosing a domain. Websites created with it are designed for personal records and experiments rather than for traffic or search optimisation. Data is stored only in the browser and not uploaded externally. It provides 100MB of storage and supports plugins such as an RSS reader, CRM tool and AI assistant.
