News app Flipboard has unveiled a “social website” that lets publishers and creators build their own spaces on the web, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday.

The social website model brings into one place conversations already under way on the open social web, including decentralised platforms such as Mastodon and Bluesky, and is managed by the operator.

The company said social websites support bringing conversations into a single hub, including social posts, video, podcasts and newsletters. Users can integrate profiles and posts from Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, YouTube, podcasts, blogs and RSS feeds in one place.

Social websites run on Flipboard’s reader app, Surf.

Flipboard has opened social websites for outlets including The Verge, WIRED, Rolling Stone, 404 Media and The Oregonian through collaborations with them.

Readers can follow journalists, podcasts, video and conversations from one hub. Creator David Rushing (데이비드 러싱) created “All Net” for NBA fans and pulled together basketball conversations, league news, video and live game commentary, TechCrunch reported.
