Red Hat releases RHEL 10.2 and 9.8, boosting security threat response and AI support
Red Hat said on May 7 it will release Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10.2 and 9.8. The latest versions, based on RHEL 10, focus on responding to new security threats, accelerating AI innovation and minimising operational variability. The company said the releases provide an operating system platform that integrates IT operations across hybrid clouds with security at its core. It highlighted stronger confidential computing and post-quantum security features.

AI-era security starts with OS patches as neglected vulnerabilities keep rising
Security threats are expected to become more sophisticated and widespread as AI expands, making it more important to keep operating system infrastructure up to date, Red Hat Korea executive Choi Won-young said. CVE counts have risen sharply, and the share of vulnerabilities exploited by attackers is also increasing, the company said. Choi said patching is often blocked by organisational practices rather than technical issues.

Saltware named Red Hat premier partner
AI cloud services company Saltware said on March 17 it has been selected as a Red Hat premier partner. Red Hat partners provide system building and operations services for corporate and public-sector customers based on Red Hat technologies. Premier partner is Red Hat’s top-tier status for companies with high technical capabilities and delivery systems. Saltware said it earned the rating about three years after starting cooperation with Red Hat.
