LG Electronics will apply its new Marine Glass material to about 1,500 square metres of the Suncheon Bay tidal flats as part of a project to restore the ecosystem and verify the growth of salt marsh plants and carbon absorption efficiency. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Suncheon city and Seoul National University’s Blue Carbon project group on joint implementation of a blue carbon ecosystem and carbon neutrality.

LG Electronics is moving to expand its Asian market reach for Purotec, an antibacterial and anti-mould functional material in glass powder form. The company said it will present Purotec at Plastindia in New Delhi, its first participation in India’s largest industrial materials exhibition. It plans to build a second glass powder production base at its Hai Phong plant in Vietnam and start operations within the year. LG Electronics also completed regulatory registrations needed for Europe and the United States.
